Alejandra Aponte is America’s Youngest Publisher!
Born in San Francisco and raised between Buenos Aires and Los Angeles, Alejandra Aponte has been writing since she could hold a pencil. At 18, she started her own publishing company, FIRST FIG PRESS, to provide a conduit for emerging English and Spanish speaking Young Adult authors to find their voice in the publishing world.

Alejandra’s new novel Murder and Other Madness is a young adult “whodunit” following the complicated lives of best friends Beckett, Sam, Dax, and Nora as they solve a murder and bust a local mob ring. Alejandra is proud to say that her new book doesn’t have a single vampire in it. She is committed to writing multifaceted multicultural characters who represent the real world and the challenging reality that teens and young adults face today.
Alejandra is the 2009 winner of the nationwide My Life as a Teen short story contest.
